Restaurants can apply multiple promotions to their menu, whether it be a global or menu level promotion. To market promotions to customers, use the URL of the promotion and send them via EDM(Electronic Direct Mail), Facebook post or Instagram.
NOTE: Users will need the required level of permission to be able to perform this task in the promotions and ordering module.
Restaurants can set up 4 different promotions:
NOTE: Global promotions will override any menu level promotions. If restaurants want to offer multiple menu level promotions at the same time, this is possible with ONE URL link.
Global promotions are a menu wide discount where it applies to all the menus. An example of a global promotion would be ‘Get 20% off when you spend $100’
To set up a global promotion follow the instructions below:
NOTE: Pre-requisite is for the menu to be configured with pricing
In the back office, navigate to content > promotions and select ‘create new promotion’
Set the fields as per below:
Promo ID: the promotion ID that auto generates one saved.
Promo Name: Same as the title, once save name can’t be changed
Title: name of promotion which can be changed at any time
Enabled: true = active, false = not active
Description: the description of the promotion
Terms and Conditions: terms and conditions of the promotion
Min/Max Pax Booking: n/a
Max Pax Day: n/a
Max Pax Promo: n/a
Start /End Date: start and end date of the promotion
Block Date: to block any dates where the promotion is not applicable to on normal promotion days
Live Date: the date when the promotion is available
Type: select ordering
Offer: field used for GLOBAL PROMOTIONS ONLY
KEY: field used for menu level promotions only. For multiple promotions, separate key name by “|”
Weekdays: what days are the promotion applicable to
Times: timeslots that the promotion is applicable to
Promo Code: n/a (for reservations only)
Private: tick
Image: n/a
Select Update or Save Promotion at the bottom after changes.
Once you have set up your promotion, select the promotion title and scroll down to click on ‘Ordering Configuration’
In the drop down, your delivery and takeaway links will appear, choose either or to view your promotion on your menu.
When you open the online ordering link, under ‘estimated time’ a promotion logo will be showing under the times of the promotion configured
Select the Date and time of the promotion and the global promotion disclaimer will appear under the title
As you proceed and add items to your cart, once the minimum spend has been reached, the cart will apply the promotion automatically
% Discount off original price
This allows the restaurant to discount a % off the total subtotal for example ‘15% off wine items.
To set up a menu level % discount promotion follow the instructions below:
NOTE: Pre-requisite is for the menu to be configured with pricing
In the back office, navigate to content > promotions and repeat the same steps as above to create a new promotion.
Instead of typing in the ‘offer’ field, type in your promo name into the ‘key’ field e.g. ‘15%off’
Once saved, copy the name of the key for this example it is 15%off’
Navigate to content > menu and select the blue edit pencil to edit the items in the promotion
Scroll down and find the item and paste the promo key name into the ‘promo key’ field.
Type the following:
LEGEND
15%off = the name of the key promo that was copied and pasted
: = must be separated by colon
Percent = type of promotion
5 = the percentage to take off original price
Once the code has been applied to all of the menu items for the promotion, select save at the bottom.
To test your promotion, navigate to content > promotions again and click on the promotion title that was just created.
Select ‘Order Configuration’ and select the URL that has been configured for your online ordering.
From here you can see the promotion icon on the timeslots
Proceed with your order by selecting the date and time and select ‘go to menu’
Scroll down and find the item with the promotion and see the percentage off discount being applied.
$X amount discount off original price
This allows the restaurant to discount a $X off the total subtotal for example ‘$5 off subtotal’
To set up a menu level % discount promotion follow the instructions below:

In the back office, navigate to content > promotions and repeat the same steps as above to create a new promotion.
Type into the ‘key’ field the name of the promotion e.g. ‘$5off’ and select save
Once saved, copy the name ‘$5off’ and navigate to content > menu > select the blue pen to edit your menu
Scroll down and find the item to apply the promotion
Type in the below on the promo key field:
LEGEND:
$5off = name of the promotion (same as key)
: = must be separated by colon
Minus = the type of promotion
5 = discount value off original price
Once applied to all the selected items, select save at the bottom
To test, navigate to content > promotions > select the promotion title
Select ‘order configuration’ and select from the online ordering links available

2for1 or 1for1 promotion
This allows the restaurant to set up a ‘buy one and get one free’ promotion
To set up a menu level % discount promotion follow the instructions below:

In the back office, navigate to content > promotions and repeat the same steps as above to create a new promotion.
Type into the ‘key’ field the promo key name e.g. ‘2for1’ and select save
Once saved, copy the name ‘2for1’ and navigate to content > menu > select the blue pen to edit your menu
Scroll down and find the item to apply the promotion
Type in the below on the ‘promo key’ field:
LEGEND:
2for1= name of the promotion (same as key)
: = must be separated by colon
oneforone = the type of promotion
2-1= discount value
Once applied to all the selected items, select save at the bottom
To test, navigate to content > promotions > select the promotion title
Select ‘order configuration’ and select from the online ordering links available
